Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Hookline is towing dispatch and management software provided by RoadRescue VA, LLC, doing business as Hookline, a Virginia limited liability company ("Hookline," "we," "us"). These Terms are an agreement between us and the company or person who signs up ("you"). By creating an account or using Hookline, you agree to these Terms. If you sign up on behalf of a company, you confirm you're allowed to accept these Terms for it.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 18 and give accurate sign-up information.
• The person who signs up is the account owner. The owner can add dispatchers, drivers and other staff and decide what each one can see and do. You're responsible for everything done under your company's account, including by people you add.
• Keep passwords private. Tell us right away at Gethookline@gmail.com if you think someone got into your account.

3. Free trial

New companies get a 30-day free trial with every feature. No card is needed to start. If you add a card during the trial, it isn't charged until the trial ends. If you don't add a payment method by the end of the trial, your account may be paused until you do.

4. Price, billing and late payment

• Hookline costs $50 per month per company (plus any taxes that apply), unless we've agreed on a different price with you in writing.
• Card payments are processed by Stripe. Your card is charged automatically each month on your billing date until you cancel. We never see or store your full card number.
• If a payment fails, Stripe will try again and let you know. If your bill stays unpaid for 7 days, your account may be paused automatically. Your data is kept, and the account turns back on as soon as the balance is paid.
• We may change the price with at least 30 days' notice by email or in the app. The new price applies from your next billing date after the notice period.

5. Cancelling

You can cancel anytime from Company → Manage billing, or by emailing us. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.

6. Your data

• You own the information you put into Hookline: calls, customers, vehicles, photos, signatures, documents, rates and reports ("Your Data").
• You give us permission to store, process and display Your Data only as needed to provide, support and improve Hookline for you. We don't sell it.
• You're responsible for having the right to collect and use Your Data, including your customers' information, photos, signatures and your drivers' locations, and for telling them as the law requires.
• How we handle information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

7. Acceptable use

Don't use Hookline to break the law, to tow or hold vehicles unlawfully, to harass anyone, to send spam, or to upload malware. Don't try to get into other companies' data, get around security or usage limits, or copy, resell or reverse-engineer the software. We may suspend accounts that do these things.

8. Your towing business

Hookline is a tool. You're responsible for your towing operations, including licensing, insurance, rates, storage fees, vehicle releases, auctions and lien notices, and for following federal, state and local towing laws. Things Hookline gives you, such as the damage waiver text, invoices, VIN decoding, maps and directions, and reports, are provided as a convenience. Check them before you rely on them. They aren't legal, tax or accounting advice.

9. Outside services

Hookline relies on outside services, including Supabase (database and sign-in), Netlify (website), Stripe (payments), map and address providers (OpenStreetMap-based services) and the NHTSA VIN decoder. We aren't responsible for those services being down or wrong. Payments are also subject to Stripe's terms.

10. Availability and changes

We work to keep Hookline running and your data backed up, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted or free of errors. We may improve, change or remove features. If we make a change that significantly reduces what you're paying for, we'll tell you first.

11. Suspension and ending the service

We may suspend or close an account for unpaid bills or for breaking these Terms. When we can, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to fix it. If we ever stop offering Hookline, we'll give at least 30 days' notice and help you get a copy of Your Data.

12. Disclaimer

Except as stated in these Terms, Hookline is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.

13. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Hookline won't be liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to Hookline is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

14. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold Hookline harmless from claims brought by others that arise from your towing operations, Your Data, or your breaking these Terms or the law.

15. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Virginia, and both sides agree to those courts' jurisdiction. Before filing anything, please contact us. Most problems can be sorted out with a phone call.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is significant, we'll let you know by email or in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use Hookline after that means you accept the updated Terms.
